Gift registries can be used for just about any occasion:
Hoping Santa brings you lots of books this year? Make a holiday gift registry! Have a birthday coming up? Celebrate with a birthday gift registry! Want to stock up on cookbooks and encourage wedding guests to shop local? Create a wedding registry! Are you a teacher looking to stock the shelves of your classroom library? You guessed it - build a classroom registry!
Here’s how to get started.
1. Go to www.oldtownbooks.com and log-in to your account. If you do not have an account already you can create one without including any billing info, just make sure to include your contact info and shipping address.
2. Click on the account icon in the upper right corner, and select “Gift Registry.”
3. Select “Create new registry” by clicking the button on the right hand side of the registry page.
4. Fill out the new registry form. Make sure to create an easy to remember title, and to select “Allow store to manage registry” so we can provide administrative help if needed.
Your registry will now be active, and a link will pop up for you to share.
5. Now the fun part! Search for the first book you would like to add to your registry. You can browse books by subject, what’s in stock, signed copies, and more filters by clicking “browse books” via the web banner on our home page.
6. When the book you're looking for appears, click the "Registry" button.
Are you a teacher looking to add to your classroom library?
We love teachers here at Old Town Books. We're so excited that the registry function will make it even easier for teachers to create a list of books they'd like for their classroom. Make your registry, then share it with parents and community members to stock your shelves. You will get a 20% discount on all books purchased for your classroom via the registry.
Once you've created a classroom registry, please be sure to send the registry's link to hello@oldtownbooks.com, so we can track and direct customers to it.
Once you send us your registry link, we'll send you a special classroom-specific code that shoppers can use for 20% off any book purchased from your registry.
Are you a parent or community member looking to support local classrooms?
Parents and caregivers: If you have a link from your favorite teacher, you can use it to shop in store or online. If you’re not sure of your code, email hello@oldtownbooks.com or ask your teacher.
Community members: Anyone can buy books for any classroom! Ask us in-store if you'd just like to support a local teacher and we will assist you with buying specifically requested titles. If you’d like to support a classroom or Book Love, our charitable giving program, you can purchase a $25 donation here.
